Meet Larissa!

1. What is your name (or your nick name)?  Larissa (Bruiser)

2. What are your pronouns?  She/Her

3. When did you become a member?  I became a member in October 2020, so just over 4 years.
4. What bike do you ride?  I ride a Honda Rebel 500.
5. How long have you been riding? And what got you interested?  I got my licence when I was 19 because my Dad and I were going to Thailand to ride into the mountains and he wanted me to get my licence first.
6. What is the most important thing you have learnt so far being a part of Dykes on Bikes Melbourne?  I've learned that friends can come from any place, background, or generation, and I have found an amazing group of people that I trust and respect.
7. What is your favourite song and why?  My favourite karaoke song is Valerie by Amy Winehouse, but I love any Halsey song.
8. Where’s your favourite place in the world?  Favourite place in the world would be Iceland (the most beautiful and quiet place I've been).
9. What is so empowering to you about riding a motorcycle? And how has riding transformed other areas of your life?  Riding a motorcycle makes me feel vulnerable and brave, and it has helped me feel confident in my abilities and myself.
10. What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?  Best advice would probably be to make sure I help myself before I can help others.
11. What gets you out of bed on a Sunday morning?  A coffee usually does it, but if the weather is beautiful then that helps too.
12. What’s your life motto?  My life motto? That's a tricky one, maybe that you can never have too many cats?
13. Which pride parade would you love to ride in?  I'd love to go back to Iceland and ride in the pride parade there.
14. What is your dream bike? Make/Model/Year and why?  I'd love a bigger bike eventually, maybe one day I'll go for a big adventure bike and go exploring.
15. What do you wish other people knew about DoBM?  I wish people knew that we're not as scary as we look, and we are many peoples' "chosen family".
